CONNECTING INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS TO A THRIVING COMMUNITY WITHIN WHICH THEY CAN BUILD LASTING RELATIONSHIPS, EXPERIENCE AMERICAN CULTURE, AND GAIN A PERSONAL UNDERSTANDING OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH.
Chi Alpha International is committed to connecting international students to a thriving community within which they can build lasting relationships, experience American culture, and gain a personal understanding of the Christian faith. Through a strong partnership between Chi Alpha Staff and volunteers from within the community, Chi Alpha International is building a bridge between international students and their new community here at American University.
What is NEXT? NEXT is an opportunity to explore the basics of the Christian faith. Set within a small group environment, each session explores at a different faith centered question, and then allows time for conversation on this topic. NEXT is an open, informal and honest space to explore and discuss life’s big questions together.
American Friends is a program that is designed to help international students experience life outside of the university setting. In partnership with local churches, Chi Alpha International pairs students from American University with individuals and families from within the DC community. These pairings are made with intent of fostering intercultural friendships that benefit both the student and the American Friends partner.
